I'm trying to pick out the perfect fabric for my next project! I found this adorable reclining rocker that I'm dying to buy (for only $20!) to reupholster. The only problem is that I promised Craig that I would tackle one of the many chairs at the house that could be used for practice and sold for extra money to put towards our new sofa. All I want to do is buy every piece of awesome furniture that I find at thrift stores to keep for when I'm ready to start a new project, but Craig keeps me in line. I love his practical side, just please don't tell him ;)
Picking out fabric quickly is not a strong attribute that I possess. Don't get me wrong, I fall in love with tons of fabric, and can pick them out for friends in a heart beat...but when given too many options my brain gets all scrambled. BUT THEY WOULD ALL LOOK AMAZING!! I use fabric.com for pretty much all of my online purchases, and I also have a really great discount store near the house who does one BIG sale once a year where all of the fabric (including upholstery and drapery) is just $1.99/yard. Shut up. I know. Also, back home in Charlotte we have an AMAZING shop called Mary Jo's which is a huge warehouse filled with fabrics, buttons, trim, zippers and thread. Its pretty special because its been in the same place for years and years and my grandmother used to shop there when she was younger. It's a little pricey, but you can find some amazing options for any project there.
So here are some possibilities that I've picked out. I am in LOVE with a few of them - one in particular which is pretty pricey. Because this is a chair that will be sold and not kept in my house, I thought it might be nice to get some outside opinions! Won't you help me pick out one?
I like the floral one, bottom left! The pinks and greens work well and it is very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI was instantly drawn to the top right and bottom left of the first four swatches. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNow I want to see the chair!
I love so many of these! Especially the top right on the second set and the top left on the first set. You sure have an eye for fabric. Be sure to hop on over to Lynn and Lou for a wonderful Giveaway!

These are all so lovely! But I'd have to say my favorites are the bottom two in the first set, and the top left in the second set. If I had disposable cash I would definitely buy a chair in one of these three fabrics. :)
ReplyDeleteThe very first pattern (purple and blue) is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Jane
My dear- you have put me in a terrible position! I'm going through a Moroccan phase (not my first time) at the moment, so the fourth one is screaming at me...
ReplyDeleteThen again, I just love Green. The 6th one is the best...
However...it is nearly spring- so the 7th is the best...
I'm still deciding- and will be for some time! Go on without me!

so many cute options! i really love the first one and the one with the japanese cherry blossoms. but any of them would look great on the chair. are you going to post pics of your progress? we'd love to see!
ReplyDeleteI think the geometric and polka dot prints are my favorite. All are beautiful and fun though!

I love the triangle one in the very top right corner! So very fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking top right in the first set of swatches.
ReplyDeleteLooking at redoing a couch pretty soon.. excited to be decorating a place, but a bit apprehensive about moving into the realm of having too many choices to be able to decide. :p
I LOVE the little triangles one!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI find that picking out fabrics is suuuuch a difficult thing to do! I always have the hardest time with it. I really love the one with the triangles above :)
ReplyDeleteI am a HUGE fan of polka dots!! I love the bottom 4 all equally!
