Before & After: Ikea Dressers

I love what a quick coat of paint and new hardware can do for a piece of furniture! We picked up these Tarva dressers from Ikea a few weekends ago (along with our new butterfly print!) and had a few swatches of green paint made into samples. We stained the sides to give it some warmth, and there you have it! It has completely transformed our bedroom and we so love it!

We also bought the tall dresser that matched and did the same ombre pattern with two additional colors added.

In case you're curious the colors that we used were (in order pictured below):
Queen Anne's Lace SW 6420
Celery SW 6421
Shagreen SW 6422
Ryegrass SW 6423
Tansy Green SW 6424
Stain: Varathane - Early American (semi-gloss)

also, the bedroom is painted Humble Gold SW 6380

  2. love this! it looks awesome. i have that butterfly poster as well. : )

  3. I love, loooove what you did with the dresser. It all looks so great together

  4. They look great! It'll be years. years. before Clay and I have our own house to be able to do these crafts that need work space, storage space and tools but I'll just keep your photos in my inspiration folder titled "dream home." Right now I'm working on 'dream apartment.'

  5. Love the hardware. Where did it come from?

  6. Just bought the dresser to do this. I love it! Did you do any sanding or priming?

    1. No sanding or priming, but we did have to seal it afterwards. Good luck! :)

  7. Looks great! May I ask what product you used to seal it?

Also, were you able to do the staining indoors (vs. outdoors)? How strong were the fumes of the Varathane?

  8. Love this! Where did you get the butterfly poster from? Ive been looking for one!

  9. I stumbled upon your project via Pinterest (surprise surprise) and our soon-to-be baby girl's dresser was heavily inspired by it :) if you want to see the end result, let me know! Thank you for sharing your beautiful ideas with the world!

  10. Hey there! Did you stain the sides or paint them? Do you have any photos? :)
