Dear Valentine

Dear Valentine,

You are the most patient and understanding valentine I've ever had. I really love to be around you. It's like somehow our souls have connected themselves to each other and no matter what is going on, good or bad, I always want to be right by your side. You fill my heart with so much love, and continue to teach show me how to be a better person each day. You're the glue that holds me together, and I just can't imagine anyone else being able to handle the job of being my valentine quite as well as you do.

Thank you for agreeing to be my partner-in-crime again for the 7th year in a row. I am a lucky girl.

I love you always.

Peach Pie for my Valentine

What are you planning to do for Valentine's day? Craig and I very rarely go out for dinner, we try to stay in to avoid the crowds. We really enjoy cooking together, so we usually try to make something new. If you're not into cooking a big dinner, but want to impress your sweet-heart, these little pies will do just the trick!

I have never made pies before, so I just sort of winged it when I was making these...but they turned out so great! If I had to do it all over again I would probably fill them up a little more and make sure that it gets nice and close to the edges. You live and you learn!
Okay so first of all I bought some frozen peaches and just let them thaw out over night and they worked perfect. Also, I bought the premade crust - judge if you will...but it was quick and easy!

Here is how I made the filling:
About 8 Peach Slices, chopped
1/2 C Brown Sugar
1/4 C Sugar
1 tbsp Cinnamon

Pop those babies in the oven for 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees and make sure to eat them while they're hot! Add a scoop of vanilla icecream for me, please. Before you know it they'll look like this...

A lovely DIY

Hey guys! Today I'm going to be doing my very first DIY! I love using water colors and thought it would be nice to send out some hand made valentines this year :)

Here's what you'll need:
1. bowl of water
2. blank notecards
3. white crayon
4. watercolors
5. paintbrush

Step One: Draw
For this part I decided to print out a cute font and trace the letters. I found this made it easier to keep the letters uniform...but its also fun to free-style it and see how it turns out!

Step Two: Paint

I love mixing colors and giving it more of an 'ombre' look. Keep in mind the more water you use the lighter the color will be, the less water you use the darker it will be. I used less water with the pink color at the top and more water with the peach color at the bottom. And the best part? Each card will be different!

Step 4: Press!
When your card starts to dry it will more than likely be wavey, unless you use really thick paper. Even still, I like to put the cards in a large book and press for a few hours.
Now you're ready to mail out your love letters!
Who will you send yours to?

xoxo

Valentine's Day Pt1

Well, this year (to avoid the crowds) the husband and I have decided to celebrate Valentine's Day a few days early. So we'll do the lovey dovey thing tonight. I'm actually really excited, I feel like we haven't spent any time together over the past few weeks. I just started a new job, Craig has work and meetings throughout the week....and every other second goes to the cafe at church or me getting ready for the stylehouse *I'll tell you more about that later! epppp!!!*
Nothing too crazy tonight just dinner and maybe dessert somewhere...or a movie. No chocolates though, cause I cant have them. Wait. Should I have bought him chocolates? Crap.

While I think on that here are some ADORABLE Valentine's Day inspired treats and goodies....
